About Sarah

Servicing the Toronto area for the last 25 years, Sarah St. Amand describes her style as livable luxury. She states that her “philosophy is to provide clients with not only aesthetically pleasing interiors but functional too.” Sarah and her boutique team focus on renovations and complete room designs to create livable but luxurious places that their clients will love.

Incorporating a Fireplace

When asked about customer involvement, Sarah mentioned that her clients are typically very involved in the process of picking the right fireplace for their home. She said that “Everyone has specific requirements in relation to appearance as well as functionality.” While she may point them in the right direction for the feel of the room, ultimately it is their choice. To pick a look for a room, Sarah and her team “typically choose based on the scale of the room and the style direction. If a contemporary setting, we may choose a linear option, while a more transitional space, we would use a square or rectangular [fireplace].”

Choosing the Right Fireplace for Your Home

Sarah worked in partnership with Regency to add a stunning Regency Grandview G800 traditional gas fireplace to her home – check out her home renovation project by searching #projecthenderson on Instagram. Sarah chose this model because of its clean lines, heat output, and stunning visual appeal. The Grandview G800 is a modern take on a traditional gas fireplace, featuring Regency’s patented Cool Wall System that allows for any finishing material to be placed directly to the edge of the firebox (including wood or wallpaper). These fireplaces are perfect for mounting TV’s or artwork above the fireplace as the Cool Wall System helps divert heat into the home and away from the inside of the wall – opening a world of opportunities for designers.

Exciting Fireplace Projects

Currently, Sarah and her team are working on a massive 10’ x 8’ fireplace with bookended quartzite to replace an outdated stone fireplace. To update the fireplace itself, they chose a new fireplace insert to help seal the fireplace and add efficient, controllable heat.
