Job Summary
Location: Edgewood, MD
In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for shipping/receiving all FPI inventory and merchandise on a regular basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Shipping and receiving of all product within ERP system
- Ensure proper packaging and palletizing of product to ensure no loss or damage during shipping
- Accurately account for all merchandise leaving the facility on a daily basis
- Pull product and load/unload trucks safely, efficiently, and accurately
- Perform regular inventory counts as scheduled
- Utilize hand held bar coding system to track the movement of product
- Maintain appropriate levels and when necessary request additional shipping supplies
- Keep a clean and safe warehouse at all times
- Demonstrate courteous, polite, and business-like manner when communicating with customers
- Maintain warehouse equipment in proper and clean working order; including daily forklift inspections
- Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles
- Follow all Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understanding
- Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Other related duties as assigned
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent communications skills (written/verbal) in English
- Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong working knowledge in a variety of computer software programs
- Flexible and willing to work in a changing environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)
Education/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Forklift license required
Experience
- Previous experience providing customer service an asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a warehousing capacity

- The salary being offered for this position is $21-22 an hour.
